Insane Random Ramblings

I had no sooner wrote that I was gonna get my mom a gag gift for Christmas when she called me to tell me that she had gotten her neighbor a gag gift. What did she get her? How about incontinence supplies? Which is just about what I wanted to get her. When I asked her why, she started laughing and said it was a funny thing to do. I think she’s been reading my blog and figured that she would get me before I got her.

Now I have to think of something else to get. Well besides her lottery tickets that is. Those are a given.

Just as I was getting ready to type this out, James Harrison made a great play to sack the Jets quarterback. Other than that, this game has been horrible. The defense is racking up a helluva lot of penalties and they’ve allowed a 100 yard rusher. That’s the first time that’s happened in 34 games.

I don’t really want anything. My mom is giving me her casino rewards so I can go pick out what I want from that. But I don’t want a traditional gift. Neither does she this year. I’ve decided to get her a some lottery tickets (which she loves) and a gag gift. Maybe something like some protective underwear will make her laugh. I really like not being confined buying a gift. She’s really easy to shop for.

Now to get gifts for the people I work with. My supervisor will probably get a gift card or something. I don’t know what to get my manager. She really doesn’t talk about anything that she likes. I guess we’ll figure something out.

I love football. Professional football that is. I don’t know what it is about college football that I don’t like. I just can’t watch it. Saturday is college day so it’s so hard to watch tv all day because that’s all that’s on. I even try to watch and root for a particular team, then halfway through the game I get bored or just totally lose interest.

Maybe it’s because my school is not that good. I mean if I had gone to GA or OSU maybe I would be excited about football. I only used GA because Hines Ward went there and OSU because Santonio Holmes went there. lolol. See, I even tied college ball in with the pros. I can’t help it. I’m a NFL nut. If anybody has any ideas on how I can get more into college ball, let me know.

I mean really. It’s against the Jets who have a horrible record. It’s not like this is a game that everybody is waiting with baited breath to see. I could have easily been a 1pm game like normal. I hate late games because then there’s the Sunday Night game which comes on at 8pm and stays on until close to midnight.

I never get anything done on Sunday because I watch football all day. I wish I had home theater chairs so I could lay back and be comfortable while watching the games. Oh well, the couch will do.

I guess today is celebrity news day on my blog. lolol. She had to serve a jail sentence for her dui. She was in jail for 84 minutes. Yes minutes. That’s ridiculous. That girl is out of control. She needs to look into drug rehabilitation or something.

When you look at how these young people in Hollywood end up, I can’t believe people would let their children become actors at young ages. Once they become adults it’s their own choice but as children? I think not.

I like her show but she’s so judgemental at times. Sometimes she gives great advice but other times her advice is suspect. She talks about mutual funds and whole life insurance a lot, but the majority of her money is in bonds.

I don’t understand how you can tell me about my money when you don’t even own the same types of investments.

It’s on the right-hand side and it’s for Amazon. I like it because it shows the deal of the day. They have a different one but I can’t find the code for it. Anyway, it shows relevant ads and it’s pretty unobtrusive.

I’m looking for more new stuff to roll out. Finding new stuff is just as fun as blogging sometimes.

I want to move some stuff around again. That’s one of the things I love about Wordpress. You can just drag the categories around and stick them wherever you want them. It’s easy-peasy even for me. I’ll keep the calendar on the top left-handed side but some other stuff might move.

I’m getting rid of one of my widgets. I took adsense off of this blog and put up a shopping ad. The reason was with adsense I just got paid per click. With the shopping one, I got a percentage of sales. I didn’t really expect to make any sales but it would have been nice if I did. The widget showed everything from books to a LCD TV and everything in between. The problem with the widget is that it doesn’t show up.

Right now it’s just a blank space on my blog. I don’t know what it is about the code that’s being used that it keeps happening, but I’m putting something else in it’s place. I might move my category list in it’s place. Or start a link exchange with blogs that I like. I don’t know, I’ll figure something out.

But I don’t. I was all excited about it too. I went to the atm to withdraw my lunch money. I got a really excited because I got my checking account receipt and I had a rather large balance. I immediately started to imagine what I wanted to buy with my “extra” money. Then I realized that a few of my checks hadn’t cleared yet. Darn, I was about to have fun with that money too.

That’s one of the perks about having a free account. I can download statements at the atm and I don’t pay fees. Plus I earn rewards on my account. I just wish I had more money. I’m about to pout now.
