My Friday Five

My top 5 vacation wish list:

  1. Aruba - I’ve been wanting to go here for years. I almost made it last year for my birthday but I went on a cruise instead.
  2. Trinidad and Tobago - This isn’t somewhere that you really hear a lot of people talking about going. I know several people from here originally and I hear how beautiful it is. I would love to go and see for myself.
  3. Dominican Republic - It’s close and it’s affordable. This will probably be the first one that I’m able to cross off of my list.
  4. Australia - I was so jealous of my friend David when he went about 4 years ago. He went with a bowling league and went to Australia and New Zealand. They stayed for 11 days total. I kept asking him to stash me in his bags. I was only half-joking.
  5. France - I never told John this because he has some kind of abnormal fascination with France and learning French. I want to spend some time in Europe. I would like to visit London but spend the majority of my time in France. This is possibly a honeymoon trip but I’m not opposed to going just because.

Grrrrr! I will be glad when today is over

I have a coworker who is supposed to be “training” me. She spends more time on the phone than doing anything else. When I did ask her for help, she handed me the training manual and told me what section to flip through to find the answer. Ok I’ll go with that. Except the book isn’t up to date, and the pages are all out of order. I went to a different coworker who did help. And guess what, that book she handed me? The instructions were incomplete. So I would have never figured it out. Did I mention that I’ve been asking for help since last week?!?!

I’ll just keep chanting “the week is almost over”. Maybe that might get me through the day.

Today is an ugly day

I mean that in more ways than one and it has nothing to do with the weather. Yesterday I talked about my skin and today it’s just as bad. I haven’t had anything to drink except water. I know it will take 2 or 3 days for my skin to clear but yuck! I have all of these marks on my face like I need drug rehab or something. I’ll be glad when my face clears up because this is ridiculous.

It’s also an ugly day because I’m tired and I don’t like my job. One has nothing to do with the other but combined it’s getting to be unbearable. Even when I try to go to bed at a decent hour I don’t fall asleep until close to midnight. I get 6 hours but it still doesn’t seem to be enough. And my job? Whew….that’s a loooooong story. Let’s just say I can see me leaving when my time in service requirement is met.

It’s also an ugly day because I just realized that I forgot my youngest cousin’s birthday. I didn’t forget it per se, but I didn’t call him like I usually do. Sorry Peyt! I hope it was a good day. Geesh, I’ll be glad when this week is over.

I must be allergic to something

My face has broken out again. It seems to be something other than regular acne too. I never had acne like this. In the summer I get a heat rash all over my face and it looks like a bunch of little pimples all over. What I have now almost looks like that but not quite. I usually get those small promotional products from the internet really cheap. Of course I don’t have any right now.

I need to find something to clear my face up.

I’m really stuffed

I went out to lunch by myself today because I was starving. I started to go somewhere quick like Mc Donald’s or Wendy’s. I changed my mind and decided to go to Chili’s and I’m glad I did. I had the steak, potatoes and broccoli meal. The steak was so tender.

I didn’t get dessert because the meal was so filling even though I really wanted one. They have these little glasses that they fill with desserts that are yummy. I usually get the cheesecake one. It’s only $2.00 or 3 for $5.49. I thought I would make myself sick so I decided against it .

Afterwards I went window shopping to try to walk off some of the food. I saw several home gyms that caught my attention. Then I thought that it was probably just the food talking so I kept shopping. I was really looking for a air conditioner but there were none out that were reasonably priced. Maybe I’ll find one before it gets hot. I live on the third floor so it stays hot in my apartment.

I had a pretty good day. Now I’m sitting back watching baseball. Yanks vs the Red Sox. It should be a good game, especially if the Yankees win.

I’m glad it’s Friday

This has been a long week. I haven’t really felt like blogging lately. I totally skipped yesterday. I’m really run down and tired. I have a few new things in store for the blog that I’m trying to implement.

Next week I’ll start my Joke Of The Week. I was doing the jokes on one of my other blogs, but I’ll switch it to this one. That will probably be on Thursday. I’ll also start a My Five Friday. I’ll make a different list every Friday. One week it could be about music, another week movies, and the next week it could be about sports. I may start it off this week but I haven’t decided yet.

Be sure to check them out and leave me a comment if you think I should add any other features.

Nightmares suck!

I haven’t had a nightmare in a while until last night. Usually when I do have a nightmare, it’s just something hinky that happens in the dream. You know getting chased with a knife or hit by a car. Bad but not terrible if that makes sense.

Last night was totally different. I was actually terrified. I don’t want to go into what exactly the dream entailed but it was scary. I saw the persons face in vivid detail including facial expressions and their voice was crystal clear.

I woke up out of the dream at 4:45am and didn’t go back to sleep at all. For the first 1/2 hour after I woke up I was too afraid to try to go back to sleep. The rest of the night/morning I just laid there trying to sleep but it didn’t work.

Needless to say, I’m dead tired today. I’ve already had one Pepsi Max and I have another in the frig. I’ll need lots of caffeine today just to stay awake. It’s a good thing I’m not in school this semester because I definitely wouldn’t go to class tonight. Hopefully I’ll get a good nights sleep tonight.

Invasion of my privacy

I’ve never had a job where they wanted to read my email before. My workleader claims that it’s in case you get an important email, they can respond for you. I think it’s bull-crap. You have to copy your workleader and the manager on every email that you send. So they know what’s in your inbox.

They just want access to see what you’re doing and who you’re talking to. I’ve had other coworkers that have been pulled into the office for personal emails. I really don’t care if they read my email because I only talk to my coworkers anyway. It’s not like any of us are a futures broker or vice president and have confidential emails. We just talk about regular stuff like school, our jobs and make fun of each other.

Right now they’re mad because the link to my email is not working so they can’t read them right now. I hope they don’t get it fixed at all.

We finally have a IHOP in Pittsburgh

First let me say that I love IHOP. There are plenty of other places that serve pancakes and/or breakfast food, but none of them compare. I found out that they were here by accident. A coworker was talking about IHOP and mentioned that one had just opened in the Robinson Town Center. I looked online and sure enough it’s here.

I called and they had a 30 minute wait for a table. We decided to go for a drive and visited the one we usually go to in Ohio. After we got home I called to find out why we hadn’t heard about the restaurant. It was just like John thought it was. They had a “soft” opening last week. A soft opening is where they open and serve food but they don’t announce that they’re in the area. It’s mostly to work out the kinks before they do their big splash into the area. They’re going to do the grand opening in another week or so.

Even though we didn’t go there this week, I’m super excited that it’s a option for the future.

The baseball package is cheaper than I thought

Yesterday I wrote that the baseball package on Comcast is $180. It’s actually $159 which is a little cheaper. I’m still not going to get the package but at least that’s more reasonable. I remember 2 years ago they offered a special after the first month and a half where the package was only $99. I would probably buy that.

I want to go to several games this year and I’m sure that will cost more than $99.
