The Red Sox had me on the edge of my seat

Oh my goodness, that game was so good. I was going crazy waiting for the game to be over. I just keep chanting, “don’t give up the long-ball” and “no hits - keep ‘em off base”. I know my neighbors probably thought I was crazy since I live by myself but whatever.

Now if you don’t read my blog, I’m not exactly a Red Sox fan. However, that’s the AL team that I’m rooting for this year. Nothing against the Rays, but I just don’t want to see them in the World Series. Not this year anyway.

Game 7 is tomorrow night and I can’t wait. I just have to make sure I’ve written my paper so nothing interrupts my game watching experience.

I don’t care what celebrities political affiliations are

Too many celebrities are “sharing” their political affiliations for my taste. I really don’t care who supports who. I know who I support and why and that’s all that is important to me. I can’t believe that celebrities actually feel like they can sway an election.

And truthfully, if you are swayed by what some celebrity says, you probably shouldn’t be voting anyway.

My Friday Five

I don’t have a topic for today so I’ll just post some random items for today’s 5:

  1. I need to pick more topics for My Friday Five. I usually have 1 or 2 but I’ve been slacking recently.
  2. I need to pay my tuition bill before I leave work. I know I’ll forget by the time I get home and I don’t want to pay a late fee.
  3. I’ll start researching topics for my paper that’s due Monday. I have no idea what I’m writing about though.
  4. I’m going shopping this weekend. I’ll get housewears and look at treadmills and shoes. The ones I have now are horrible.
  5. I’m glad the Red Sox won yesterday. I would really love to see them and not the Rays in the World Series.

Have a great weekend!

Joke of the week

A friend was in front of me coming out of church one day,
and the preacher was standing at the door as he always
is to shake hands. He grabbed my friend by the hand and
pulled him aside.

The Pastor said to him, “You need to join the Army of the
Lord!”

My friend replied, “I’m already in the Army of the Lord,
Pastor.”

Pastor questioned, “How come I don’t see you except at
Christmas and Easter?”

He whispered back, “I’m in the secret service.

The Phillies are going to the World Series

Wow!!!!!! I’m so happy for all of the die hard Phillies fans. It’s been a long time coming. These guys really battled for it too. Cole Hamels is the NLCS MVP.

Now it’s just a wait and see if they play the Rays or the Red Sox. I don’t care which team they play, I gotta go with the Phils!

GO Phillies!!!!!!!!!!

And no I’m not a homer. I’ve always been a Phillies fan. The Yankees are my favorite team but I love the Phillies as well and I always have.

Am I the only one who turned out ok?!?!

Of course not but sometimes it seems that way. I’ve been talking to one of my friends and we’ve been catching up on some of our childhood friends and enemies. Most people are like us, doing ok. Good jobs, benefits, some have families, homes, etc., etc.. I like hearing that. I don’t care if someone is doing better than me or not. Just hearing that everything is going good is nice to hear.

Then there are the people who aren’t doing so good. Mostly it’s bad choices on their part. Some of the same people my age are strung out on drugs or alcohol bad. They’ve been that way since we were all young too which is sad. You figure at some point these people would grow up but they haven’t. It’s pretty sad but they are exactly the people I wanted to get away from when I moved.

It’s not like my life is perfect or even peaches n cream. I have issues and struggles like everybody else. But you gotta know when to put on your big girl panties, deal with it and keep it movin.

I just wish I could get that point across to other people.

I think I need a new theme

I think I need a newly designed theme for this blog. This theme has glitches that I don’t like. My spell-checker has never worked and my sidebars don’t support some of the things that I want to put on there.

The worse part is that I keep getting internal errors on my theme. Sometimes it’s with a post. Other times it’s just logging into my account in general. I even get the error when I try to delete some of the spam that I get daily.

I really hate changing themes though. It’s a huge hassle to download and reapply all of my extras. I also really love this theme and I won’t change me theme in haste. This theme seems to match my blog name perfectly.

I’m sure it will be a challenge finding another theme this great.

This is a boring weekend

I love when I have 3 day weekends and have that extra day from work. But I don’t have anything to do this weekend. Yeah I do have homework to do. I have to read about 6 different articles that we’ll critique in class but I can read them tomorrow and Tuesday.

Yeah I have class on Tuesday this week. Apparently we have too many Tuesday classes this semester or something. Anyway all Monday classes are being held on Tuesday and the normally scheduled Tuesday classes are cancelled. The rest of the week is business as usual.

I’ll be kinda glad when I’m done with school and I’ll have extra money to play around with. Some of these 3 day weekends are perfect for short getaways.

My Friday Five

Well it’s not exactly MY Five but it is funny:

A-ROD’S FAVE FIVE

Who is Alex Rodriguez staying in touch with these days?

1. Vlad Guerrero. Vlad now has one RBI his last four postseason series (17 games) and just two extra-base hits in 75 career playoff at-bats.

2. Alfonso Soriano. Just 3-for-28 the past two postseasons with a career postseason average of .213 in 44 games.

3. Aramis Ramirez. 2-for-23 the past two postseasons with a career playoff average of .194.

4. Rich Harden. 1-3, 6.35 postseason ERA with 22 baserunners allowed in 11.1 innings.

5. Chase Utley. 4-for-26 postseason average (.154) with one extra-base hit. But at least he gets another chance in the NLCS.
