Yeah, happy birthday bro! Unfortunately we can’t spend it together because we’re in two different states but I will at least get a chance to talk to him later on today. I never make a big deal about my birthday but I do make a fuss over other peoples’ birthday. I had no idea what to get him so I just sent money because that’s always the perfect present.
I just hope he has a great day!
Whoops! I mailed it today and his birthday is Wednesday. They don’t pick up mail until 2pm and then again at 5pm. Then it has to go to the main post office, sorted and sent to his city. He’ll probably receive the card on Thursday or Friday. I already had the card but I had forgotten to get his gift card so I kept putting off mailing the card.
On a positive note, I’m sure he’ll love the card.
Mainly because he’s a teenager and everybody is on facebook now. We’re not facebook friends and I didn’t even know he had an account until I saw him on another persons’ friends list. It just seems weird and awkward that everyone else sent well wishes and I didn’t. I’m not ignoring him but we’re not close either.
That’s the thing about facebook though. It makes you keep in contact with people that you normally wouldn’t talk to. Now I have to send belated wishes so I don’t get on his bad side.
I have to be honest and say no. I haven’t worked on my birthday in over 11 years. To me, it’s my own little personal holiday. Today is my coworkers birthday and she’s here at work. She said that she doesn’t have anything planned so she might as well save the vacation day.
I am of a totally different mindset. I don’t care if I was out getting my hair done, going on a mileage run or shopping for ATV Parts or brake shoes, I most certainly wouldn’t be here. Not today of all days.
I know you shouldn’t expect other people to make a big deal about your birthday, but shouldn’t you at least treat yourself?

Right now he’s out enjoying his day. Not only does he have great weather but he’s taking in a Phillies game as we speak. I’m extremely jealous right now since I’m couped up at work for another hour.
I’ll have to call him tomorrow and see how his day went.
My birthday was back in August but I was on vacation and my friend wasn’t able to take me to dinner. We use our birthday dinners as a way to catch up on what each other has been up to for the past few months.
I finally graduated from college last year while she is working on her accredited online degree in Business Administration. She is very close to having her Master’s then she is going to go for a certification in one of her fields of study. She’s trying to convince me to go back to school as well, but at this point I don’t know if I’m ready for it. I’m sure I’ll get “the talk” this weekend when we get together.
I haven’t actually seen her in several months so it will be good to see her face to face and finally catch up. Even if I have to duck and dodge the school question.
My birthday is coming up next week and I want to buy myself something but I have no idea what. I went to ebillme to look for coupons to some of the sites that I shop at. I did see both Kmart and Sears among the stores that I’ve heard of. There was also Wireless Emporium and My Jewelry Box (which sounds like it could be my new favorite store).
The cool thing with ebillme is that a bunch of websites now use this service. I don’t have to use any credit cards or debit cards. I buy what I want and check out using ebillme. Then I get a bill by email which I pay from my online bank account and that’s it! Easy as can be. And if that’s not enough, they also have a rewards program where you can save 1% on future purchases. That money can really add up too.
Last year I used ebillme to buy a mp3 player from TigerDirect. I used the bill pay option at my bank to pay ebillme for the item. That’s it…not hard at all. The best part is I don’t have to use a credit card or give out my banking information. You simply set up ebillme as a payee at your bank and it’s done and over.
Now I have to get back to shopping because I think that jewelry store is calling my name.
I’m one of the few people that I know that actually loathes when my birthday comes up. Every year I get irritable and moody around that day. Then when people with me “Happy Birthday”, which they invariably do, I get even more irritated.
I never plan anything for that day either. I won’t go to the mall, atv riding or anything. I did want to go on vacation this year since this is kinda a “milestone” birthday. Unfortunately I waited too long to start planning everything and it got way too expensive for me to justify going. I may start saving this year for next year so I can go away for that week.
I would just rather be by myself during this time.
I need to lost weight. I’ve decided to start small and go on a 6 week plan. I have 2 main reasons for doing this. The first reason is that I’ll see a small victory. I can start a exercise regiment along with diet pills that work for my metabolic rate and see some weight come off. The second reason is that 7 weeks from now is my birthday.
I’m not going on vacation this year so I need something to cheer me up on my birthday. I don’t know why, but I’m usually sad on my birthday. Even when I’m surrounded by my family and friends I just dread that day. By going on this plan, I at least have something to focus on.
The best part is that I’ve made it a manageable goal. I’m only looking to lose 10-15 pounds which is not a lot but enough for me to see a difference. Maybe I’ll even tweak my budget and be able to squeeze a small vacation in there as well. Hey I can only hope, like I said, I need something to look forward to.
John thought I was going to buy him a gag gift for his birthday. I don’t know why though. I had been telling him that I had a good gift picked out for him since mid-December. I know he loves baseball so I knew that would make a great gift.
I guess he thought I would get him something stupid like a Chia Pet or something. He said depending on what I got him, he already had some gag gifts picked out for my birthday. He said something crazy like Depends, progesterone or something silly like that. Of course that’s a crack at my age since I’m older than he is. That’s cool I can take a joke.
I’m just glad he realized that I didn’t get him a gag gift. Maybe that means I’ll get something cool for my birthday. I have to wait until August to find out though.
