Archive for the ‘blogging’

I don’t even feel like blogging today

It’s just not a good day. It’s raining and gloomy and I’m still stinging from not getting either job that I had applied for. I am happy that I at least have a job but the one I have majorly sucks. I’m sitting here stagnating and stewing because I hate it so bad.

Ughhhhhhhh!

My insane random ramblings

I have nothing but a bunch of anecdotes so here goes:

  • Bye Lamar, I hate the fact that the Lakers traded you to Dallas. I don’t want you and  the in-law side show affecting my boo.
  • I hate Dirk’s new hair cut, I like the long hair.
  • Now that the Laker’s didn’t get CP3, will they get D. Howard?
  • What did the Cowboys expect? You iced your own kicker last week, what made you think the Giants wouldn’t do it again this week?
  • Is it psychological with the kicker now? He aced the first kick, I realize the second kick was blocked but wow.
  • I still have a long way to go before pitchers and catchers report.
  • I really don’t like the Angels now. I hate AP.

Personal blog musing

I was looking over some of the titles of some of my old posts. I noticed that the vast majority start with “I”. I’m now wondering if that’s such a bad thing. It’s a personal blog about me and my experiences so the majority of the time it’s going to be “me, mine or I”.

What about your blog or the blogs that you may read? Is it the same way or do you  feel that it’s too much. Curious minds and all.

I had better take advantage of the internet now

I’m looking for a new job for several reasons. First, I don’t like the job that I have now. It’s boring and there is no room for advancement or development. The second reason is that I don’t even remotely make enough money. And because you can’t develop or advance here, all I have to look forward to is our annual raises, which are really bad at this company.

The one perk is that I have access to the internet. I can read news stories, blog or just surf for information on a discectomy while I’m here. As long as my work gets done, my boss doesn’t mind us using the internet.

I do know that once I find a new position, all of my internet access will come to an end.

I’m so lost without my password saving program

I visit several websites daily, and there are some that I visit several times per day. Most of the time I use a very similar password but then I’ll visit those sites that have the weird requirements. You know, 1 capital letter and 1 number and 6 characters minimum but no more than 9 total. Ackkkkk. They drive me crazy. I’m glad that most of my passwords are saved on my computer.

It does stink when you get a network upgrade and it wipes some stuff out, but that’s usually an easy fix. It’s going to be real hectic when I get a new computer and have to wipe this one clean. My passwords won’t transfer with me.

And yes I know I should use total unrelated passwords but I already have a small notebook full. I don’t want to have to start a new book.

Blocked internet sites are driving me crazy

The sites at work that is. The frustrating part is that the site will be available one week, or even one day, and then totally gone the next time you try to access it. I don’t know how our IT department decides which sites should be blocked. At one point any site with the word “blog” in the title was blocked, now they aren’t. However, Swagbucks is now blocked. Now that’s odd because I had been using that site for over a year.

I guess I should enjoy Ebay before that gets blocked again.

I only randomly update my other blogs

I have several blogs that I need to update. One is a financial blog that generally gets updated 3 times per week. Then I have 2 other blogs that were supposed to get updated weekly. Then I moved it back to bi-weekly. Now I’m lucky if I get the time to update them once per month. It seems like I say whatever I need to say on my two main blogs so what’s the purpose of the other two blogs? But they’re old and I’ve had them a while so I keep them around.

There is another random blog that I haven’t updated in several years. I’ve tried to delete it but it just hangs around. Now I’m off to update one or two of the other blogs, or not.

What does your blog say?!?!?!

I had a new potential spam comment on my other blog today. I generally check out the comment and the site before I decide to approve it or mark it as spam. When I got to the site that was associated with the comment, it was all in German!!!  I have absolutely no idea what the posts are talking about. I felt like I should pull out my gps online to figure out what the posts said. The funny thing is that when I went to their “about me” page, they stated that they were U.S. based, Texas to be exact. Ironic huh? I guess they’re trying to cash in on Dirk mania. I have to admit that it certainly worked in this instance.

I tentatively approved the comment but if I notice a marked increase in spam from them, I’ll just delete them back off.

Why do I let spam comments get under my skin

I really have no idea. I know that these people are just out trolling for link backs. They’re hoping that they will rile you up so that you’ll approve their comments. Once you’ve done that, you’ll have a rebuttal to their comment but it won’t matter because they’re not coming back to your blog. When you approved the comment, they got the link that they wanted.

I know this yet I still let them get to me. I need to start just deleting everything and stop reading the comments, especially since I know that the vast majority of them are garbage.

You almost got me spammers

I was looking through my comments and I noticed that one was right on topic. I had even checked the box to approve the comment until I started scrolling past the other comments. Then I noticed the exact same message from the exact same IP address. They did change the “commenter name” and website but it was obviously the same person.

You almost got a link back but almost isn’t good enough. Keep tryin’ though, maybe one day you’ll actually get through.
