My cousins team lost

Boooo for losing on his birthday!!! But I saw the pictures he took with his friend and they had a great time at the game. They did a little tailgating before the game and had a few beers during the game. Afterward the game they went out for dinner. Since they still had their game gear on, they opted for something really casual.

All in all he had a really good time even if his team did lose. I’m just glad he enjoyed his birthday.

It’s my cousin’s birthday

Yay!!! Happy Birthday Hoake….lololol

Right now he’s out enjoying his day. Not only does he have great weather but he’s taking in a Phillies game as we speak. I’m extremely jealous right now since I’m couped up at work for another hour.

I’ll have to call him tomorrow and see how his day went.

Ugh please stop calling me

My family, 1 aunt and uncle in particular, treated me really badly when my mom passed away. Now they’re trying to play all nicey-nicey (I know those aren’t words) and acting like nothing ever happened. Unfortunately for them, I can and do hold grudges. I don’t want to talk to them at all right now.

Yesterday I slept most of the day and when I did wake up, I forgot to turn my cell phone on. Apparently they must have tried to call me and couldn’t get an answer. When I got to work this morning, I had 2 voice mails from them. One was at 8:40pm on Sunday. They know darn well I don’t work on Sunday.

If this is their way of trying to get me to call, it’s not going to work. I may turn them in to my technology department as harassing calls. I wish they would leave me alone!

Money makes people act very strangely

And it’s not even a lot of money either. It’s only about 10K and that’s before some bills get paid. I have at least 4 family members calling and asking about money like it’s growing on trees. When I say no they want details and descriptions on why I’m saying no. First off I don’t owe anybody anything. Well except for my credit card company but that’s another story. Secondly, I don’t owe anyone an explanation of how much money we’re getting or what I plan on doing with that money.

People’s true colors are starting to show and it’s not very pretty.

I inherited so much stuff

Some of the stuff I got from my mom is very nice.  I got a ton of pictures, some of which I really love. There are portraits of my entire family and pictures of my brother and I when we were both very young. I also got some of my moms jewelry. One of my aunts suggested that I look at ring holder gifts for her so I can display the rings and bracelets properly. Right  now they’re just sitting on my dresser and you really can’t see how nice they really are. I’m looking at Red Envelope for both things. I can get a nice jewelry box and some cool, modern and contemporary picture frames for a great price.

Now what I plan to do with that rest of the stuff she has is beyond me. Right now I’m still just trying to go through it all.

My brother got his books already

Man that fast. I didn’t think he would get them for a while. Most of the places I looked at had a 3 week delivery policy. I was looking for a waterproof camera for myself so I wasn’t too thrilled with spending my money on his books. However I did find some for a really great price with a decent shipping policy and that’s where I ordered them from. He told me that he actually got them at the end of last week which was only about 10 days.

I love when places give great customer service. The next time I want to buy more books I’ll go back to that same guy. Now I just need to find a gift for myself. I guess I’ll go back and poke around that site where I saw the camera. I saw some other electronics for pretty reasonable prices. And I am in the market for a new laptop and a Ipod.

On second thought, I had better wait until payday because I think I’m going to end up spending a lot more than I had planned.

I’m finally starting to get the hang of Facebook

I’ve been poking around Facebook for a month or so now. I still only have 3 friends and that’s because I recently added my cousin to my friends list. I still have 12 people in my queue to confirm and I don’t know 3 of them. The race to see how many friends you can amass is something that I still haven’t figured out yet. I don’t know if it makes people feel good to have extra friends or what.

I’m still trying to edit my profile though. My current city field doesn’t quite say what I want it to. I’ll keep tweaking it until I finally get it right. In the mean time, I need to weed through those friend requests.

Who knew books were that expensive?!?!

I finally ordered my brothers books. I had to go to at least 4 different stores before I could find them for a decent price. He doesn’t have any of those electronic readers so I had to get him regular paper back books. I ordered 5 books and at one store the total was close to $75. I knew that was too much so I searched around and I finally got all 5 for $38 which included shipping.

I hope he doesn’t read these books too fast. I’m not ready to buy more books yet.

I forgot to order books for my brother

My brother asked me to order some books for him about 2 weeks ago and I keep forgetting. I did make it as far as going online and looking to see who had the books for the best prices. I narrowed it down to 2 places and I will probably go with half.com. Partially because they have the best prices but they are also a part of a program where you earn cash back for your purchases. I know once I see that epson receipt printer register tape ring up with the cost of all of those books, I’ll probably be ready to fall out.

I figure if I can earn a few bucks back, it will cut down on the price of the books. Then of course, I can buy my brother another stack of books in a few weeks. He doesn’t ask for much so when he does ask for something I try my best to get it.

My gift list is getting too long

Generally I only have about 3 people to buy gifts for during the holiday season. This year I have my niece and her daughter to add to the list. I also have to add one of my good friends from college to the list. Now she’ll be easy. We’re going on vacation next year and she wants a rfid blocking wallet to take with us. Basically no one can steal the frequency from your credit cards or passport as long as they’re in this wallet. Luckily I know just where to find this so I’ve already got her scratched off of the list.

My niece on the other hand wants a bunch of electronics. She wants a phone, a I-pod or mp3 player, cash and some other stuff. That doesn’t even include the clothes and toys that I’ll buy for her daughter. I also want to get the baby a savings bond or two. I already know that the rest of the family won’t think of them because they don’t think too heavily about the future.

All I know is this is gonna be one expensive Christmas.
