My Friday Five

I don’t have a topic today so I’ll talk about my top five things to do this weekend:

  1. Read my book for class. I haven’t read it at all so instead of 5 chapters, it’s 10 chapters. I’ll break it down 5 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday.
  2. Go shopping tomorrow for breakfast food. I don’t a lot either. Just oatmeal, fruit and milk. It should be a short trip.
  3. Get my car inspected. My inspection expired and I haven’t gone yet to get it done. I don’t feel like sitting in the shop but I need to get it done.
  4. Surf the internet all weekend. I’ll be on and off of the computer all weekend looking up everything from Hydroxycut reviews to celebrity gossip and everything in between.
  5. Search for a flight during the holidays. I haven’t decided if I’m going home for either one but I need to know how much a flight will set me back. Hopefully it won’t be much.

Have a great weekend!

My Friday Five

This is going to be a busy weekend for me. This is my top 5 things to do this weekend:

  1. Get my car inspected. The inspection actually end today but I’ll get the car inspected on Sunday.
  2. Go shopping for my friends baby shower. Maybe I’ll get her a bunch of diapers wholesale or something. I really have no idea what to get. I really hate buying presents but not as much as I hate going to baby showers.
  3. Write my mini-essay for class that’s due Monday. He just sent us the topic yesterday so it’s not like I’ve been sitting on the assignment at all.
  4. Prepare my presentation for the same class. It’s supposed to be a group project from 5-7 minutes long. I’ll try to write as much as I can so whenever I get to class it will be almost done.
  5. Study for my mid-term exam. It’s going to be a short exam only 33 questions. Most of the questions will be multiple choice with a few short answer questions.

Most of the stuff I’ll be doing this weekend has to do with school and I still have 2 or 3 other things to do. I’ll be super busy but I hope you have a great weekend!

My Friday Five

I don’t have a topic for today so I’ll just post 5 random items.

  1. I still haven’t read my book for class. I’ll probably read it tomorrow and Sunday before the game.
  2. I need to balance my checkbook again. It’s been almost a month and I’m way out of balance. That’s why I always keep a cushion in my account.
  3. I have to take my car to be inspected sometime within the next week. The sticker expires at the end of the month.
  4. I need to shop for my friends baby shower. I have no idea what to get. I don’t even like baby showers :-/
  5. Our boss had a catered breakfast for us today at work and it was delicious. I usually have oatmeal or cereal for breakfast because I’m too lazy to go to the cafeteria in the morning. It was a welcome treat.

Have a great weekend.

My Friday Five

I don’t have a topic for today so I’ll just post some random items for today’s 5:

  1. I need to pick more topics for My Friday Five. I usually have 1 or 2 but I’ve been slacking recently.
  2. I need to pay my tuition bill before I leave work. I know I’ll forget by the time I get home and I don’t want to pay a late fee.
  3. I’ll start researching topics for my paper that’s due Monday. I have no idea what I’m writing about though.
  4. I’m going shopping this weekend. I’ll get housewears and look at treadmills and shoes. The ones I have now are horrible.
  5. I’m glad the Red Sox won yesterday. I would really love to see them and not the Rays in the World Series.

Have a great weekend!

My Friday Five

Well it’s not exactly MY Five but it is funny:

A-ROD’S FAVE FIVE

Who is Alex Rodriguez staying in touch with these days?

1. Vlad Guerrero. Vlad now has one RBI his last four postseason series (17 games) and just two extra-base hits in 75 career playoff at-bats.

2. Alfonso Soriano. Just 3-for-28 the past two postseasons with a career postseason average of .213 in 44 games.

3. Aramis Ramirez. 2-for-23 the past two postseasons with a career playoff average of .194.

4. Rich Harden. 1-3, 6.35 postseason ERA with 22 baserunners allowed in 11.1 innings.

5. Chase Utley. 4-for-26 postseason average (.154) with one extra-base hit. But at least he gets another chance in the NLCS.

My Friday Five

Since I have nothing special going on, this is just my top 5 things I plan on doing this weekend:

  1. Reading my book for class. We already finished one book and we’re starting on another. I’ll read during the day on Saturday.
  2. Clean up my notes from the movie we watched. Last week we watched Unfaithful in class. We had specific things that we were supposed to look out for because they related to the class. I need to decipher my notes and make them coherent.
  3. Watch sports. Between the baseball playoffs and regular football season, I’m sure I’ll end up watching sports almost all weekend.
  4. Go shopping at Wally World. I need a new pillow, mine is dead flat right now. I also need some envelopes, laundry detergent, acne treatments, and lotion. The weather is starting to change and my skin is dry already. I’ll probably get some moisturizing body wash as well.
  5. Look online and finalize my school schedule for the spring. I need to know if the classes work within my work schedule or if I have to juggle some things around.

Have a great weekend!

My Friday Five

Today my Friday five is all about sports:

  1. I can’t believe the Yankees didn’t make the playoffs. It’s the first time in 15 years that they didn’t even get to the first round. They have played horrible all year but I figured they would turn it around. No such luck this year.
  2. Hank Steinbrenner needs to shut up! Stop whining. Ok so a division leader in the National League has a worse record than you but they’re making the playoffs. Wah wah wah, you know the rules….win and you’re in.
  3. Ugh, I can’t believe we lost to the Eagles. Yuck! I’ve been working closely with some people on Philadelphia jobs and that’s all I’ve been hearing this week.
  4. I know we don’t play this week until Monday night but I still hope there are some good games on tv on Sunday. I don’t have anything planned and I don’t want to watch the House marathon this weekend. Even if it’s only one good game, I’ll be happy.
  5. I don’t know if I should root for the Mets or the Brewers. I hate both teams. Of course I want the Phillies to win the division. But I don’t know who to root for to win the wildcard. I guess the Mets although I don’t like them. I think my dislike for the Brewers is even stronger!

Have a great weekend.

My Friday Five

The top 5 things I plan on doing for school this weekend:

  1. Read 5 chapters in my book. This will be hard because the subject matter is pretty dry and boring.
  2. Analyze and create a summary for 1 chapter for review in class. Every student has 1 chapter in the book. There are 2 students for each chapter. We create a word document and send it to the prof. who then puts it online.
  3. Figure out my budget to pay for next semester. Right now it looks like I’ll be about $600-700 short. At least a budget will bring it closer into focus for me.
  4. Check the schedule of classes to see which 2 classes I’ll take next semester.
  5. Comment on a online article that the prof. posted to the school bulletin board. It’s kinda required but not really. I need all of the points I can get.

Have a great weekend everyone!

My Friday Five

I haven’t really written about sports lately so today’s topic is: 5 random sports items

  1. I wrote a post about Shawne Merriman a week ago. I’m glad to see that he’s having the surgery he needs. I hate to see the Charger’s lose him for the season but that’s better than him having a potentially career-endind injury.
  2. I can’t believe the Browns are still talking smack after getting crushed by the Cowboys last week. Sunday night is the Steelers turn to hand them a butt whooping!
  3. Tom Brady is lost for the season! He tore his MCL and his ACL. The team will wait for his MCL to heal then he’ll have surgery on the ACL. His expected recovery time is 9 months. Training camp starts in 10 months so he should be good to go for next year.
  4. Forbes magazines estimates that the 3 pro football teams worth the most money are: Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, and New England Patriots.
  5. You know the Yankees are having a rough go of it when they haven’t shown one of their games on regular tv in almost 3 weeks. Now, I have to turn to my electronics media to see them. Usually there’s a game on once a week. I miss drooling over A-Rod.

Have a great weekend!

My Friday Five

The top five things I plan on eating this weekend:

  1. Ribs. Mmmmm my favorite.
  2. Grilled chicken
  3. Pasta and/or potato salad
  4. Hotdogs
  5. Corn on the cob

Mmmm I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. I can’t wait! Have a great holiday weekend!
