Insane Random Ramblings

I play this game every time it comes out. I never win anything though so I don’t know why I bother. I guess it’s just the thrill of the chase that keeps me coming back. Something cool this year is that you can play on your cell phone. I can’t get the internet on my phone but I used one of my coworkers smart phone to play the game. She has a touch screen iphone which is really easy to use to enter codes. It really makes me want to upgrade to an internet capable phone.

Maybe this will be the year that I break through and actually win something.

No of course it wasn’t me that had extra money. It was my friend and her sister because they both won at the casino this past weekend. I seem to be a perpetual loser when I go. But my friend and her sister had a little lucky streak going on. They won over $4K between the two of them.

My friend is using her share to pay her taxes (which are really late) and to buy a new HDTV. Her sister will just use the money to go back and gamble on another day.

I need to hit the same lucky streak that they seem to be on.

I haven’t been able to solve half of the puzzles that are in the paper this week. It’s really strange in that I usually breeze through the first 3 and the last 2 are difficult to down right impossible. But this week I’ve had trouble with most of them. I don’t know if I’m not concentrating or what but I just can’t seem to solve these puzzles.

I am stressed out this week so I’m sure that has something to do with it. Maybe I’ll have better luck next week after I take the weekend to clear my mind and relax.  At least I hope so because this is very frustrating.

You know like McDonald’s and Subway games. This time it was the game at Rite Aid where you save the pieces to get prizes. Of course I kept getting the same game pieces. However this time, unlike the last few times, I really only went to the store if the item I wanted was on sale and I really needed it. No more reading a thermotox review and then going and buying it on the spur of the moment. The game lasts for one more week but I’m done with it. If I happen to go in there to buy something fine, but I won’t go out of my way.

Now I just have to apply that logic to the rest of those games that I never win.

Well not really patiently. I’m almost stalking the mailman every day trying to see if I got a letter with my money. I’m still not sure whether I’m getting a gift card or a check for the amount. It doesn’t matter either way just as long as it comes. If it were a life insurance check I’m sure I would have had it weeks ago. They usually don’t play when it comes to getting you your cash.

Hopefully I’ll have some good news by the end of the week. If I have to wait over the weekend I’ll probably go crazy.

And I have so many sites to choose from. I love Bejeweled on almost any site that I can find it on. Then I play on PopCap and Pogo whenever I can. My computer sticks and freezes a lot so I have trouble sometimes but when it works, man do I get in the zone. I can literally sit and play some games for hours at a time. That doesn’t even include the sites where I can win prizes for playing. It’s a done deal once I get to those places. I’ll play for free gift cards, a rackmount for my car or anything else that they happen to be giving away. Of course, I have to love the game to play it. I really don’t play just for the prizes although they are a great incentive.

As a matter of fact, I’m off to play now!

It’s so stupid. I play it every year and I never win anything. Oh wait, I forgot that I won a apple pie last year. Major eyeroll at that. So far I’ve entered over 12 codes and all I won is 25 My Coke Rewards points. Considering there is nothing on that site worth saving points for, I don’t consider that a win either.

I enter sweepstakes and contests a lot so I know that you can’t win every time but this game is just ridiculous.

Do you play your games straight through to try and beat it? Or are you the type of person that likes to explore the game and look for all of the little details in the game? I notice that John is the latter. He drives me crazy playing his xbox 360 games. But he wants to see the whole game. He’ll say “I wonder what will happen if….”, then he’ll do something crazy like crash the character into a wall or try to kill someone he shouldn’t be.

I’ve noticed other people playing the same games have already finished the entire game. One person told me it was because he did all of the activities (missions). He didn’t do any extra, what he called, dilly-dallying around. He preferred it that way so he could get on to the next game.

Which type of gamer are you? Do you explore the games slowly or do you beat it and then you’re done?

They are both driving me crazy. When he first got his XBOX 360, he bought the Saints Row game. He was happy with that until Grand Theft Auto IV came out. He put that game on reserve and played it for weeks. Now he’s hooked on some Ninja game. It’s not the new one either it’s the old Ninja Gaedin game. Part 2 just came out this week but he hasn’t bought it yet.

He’s spent so much money on those video games that it’s not even funny. It’s his money to spend so I don’t say anything. He’s ready to start doing market research surveys to earn extra money to pay for the games. The cheap games start at $10 but they’re either old or used, sometimes both. He plays those games day and night. Most of the time I can’t watch tv because he’s hogging it up with his games. I usually have to go in the bedroom to watch tv.

I’ll have the last laugh though because the bedroom is a lot cooler in the summer. So he can stay in the livingroom and sweat like crazy while I chill in the air.
