Move along people there’s nothing to see

Ugh these movie people are working my nerves. They’re yelling at us to move as their blocking the sidewalk and inconveniencing you. I know most people are uber excited about the movies being shot locally but it’s just a hassle to me. They’re not affecting me or my industry and they surely aren’t putting any money in my pocket.

The fact that you hear stories about the actors around town acting like asses surely doesn’t help. Hopefully this will all be over soon and we can get back to normal. You know with just the panhandlers and hobos on the sidewalk kinda normal. Not the annoying gawking movie groupies that’s going on now.

This city is movie central right now

They’re filming another movie locally. This time it’s the new Batman movie starring Christian Bale. It’s only been in the 90’s for the past few weeks and he is not happy about wearing that rubber suit :>)

Within the past 3 years, we’ve had no less than 10 movies filmed locally. It’s kind of cool to watch all the stars roam around town trying to blend in. Unfortunately someone generally screams and draws attention to them and causes a scene. That’s a hoot.

Too bad I’m not into trying to be an actress. I’m sure I could have scored a couple of parts by now.

Tyler Perry in drag again?!?!?!

I had another post all written out but then I saw the ads for his new movie. Of course “Madea” is the title character. I don’tĀ have anything againstĀ TP but I remember a few years ago where he said that he was retiring the Madea character. He still hasn’t retired her.

I guess I’m really tired of the whole phase. It’s not even the whole drag thing either. I know he wants to send a good message but his movies are super preachy. They start to get on your nerves. But his tv shows are the worse. Most of the actors can’t act and it seems like they’re just trying to upstage each other when they’re not trying to profile for the camera.

I know he wants to make the shows seem real but the characters are stilted and it’s really insulting. I hate to say it but both of his shows come across more as a shuck n’ jive routine than real acting. I guess he wanted to portray middle class blacks but in my opinion he really missed the mark. Not every middle class black family are like the Huxtables and perfect (they’re actually upper middle but whatever), but they certainly don’t act like the people on his shows either.

I guess Tyler is on a paper chase and he’s gonna dress in drag until people get tired of it. It’s a shame really because to me he seems like a person who doesn’t stand behind his word.

I haven’t gotten to the movies yet

I wanted to go today but I was so tired that I slept most of the day. When I did get up the last thing I wanted to do was go sit in a movie theater. I’ll go tomorrow and see one of the movies that I need to see. I’ll also buy the book for the other movie which I’ll read on Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday I’ll go to the movies and see the other movie and write up the short papers that I need to have for school.

I wish I could buy the movies instead of going to the theater. Oh well, at least I have something to get me out of the house tomorrow.
