I have my house savings account where I’m saving for a down payment for a house. I plan on buying something next year. I also just opened a new house account but this one is for furniture, appliances, etc.
Once I buy my own house I know I’ll need curtains and household items that I don’t have now. I’ll also need a new vacuum cleaner because the one I have now is very small and is only made for small surfaces. I have a small stereo but I know I’ll want to buy Energy speakers for bookshelf to give me a better quality sound. Since I’ll be in my own house, I’ll be able to turn the radio up a little louder and really enjoy my music.
While I do want a flat screen tv, I already have 2 tv’s and I inherited 3 more from my mom. Needless to say I won’t be kicking out any more there, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t start saving for that as well. That way when the time does come to replace the item, the money will be there and I won’t have to worry about how to pay for it.
I can already see that being a homeowner is going to be very expensive.
