I found out who got the job that I really wanted. Her interview sucked, her outfit was not appropriate and she rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth at the interviewer. Wow! And she got the job. She does have a degree and is working on a master’s but has no experience. I have the experience and a degree. I guess she somehow out-interviewed me.
Of course, it could have also been the see through shirt she had on.
Grrrr. I knew they had interviewed one of my coworkers but I just found out that another coworker had the interview as well. So why am I aggravated? Because the 2nd coworker didn’t even apply for the position!
It seems that HR goes through resumes to see if people from the same area are applying for jobs. They feel if one person is qualified then probably all of them are. This couldn’t be further from the truth. The 2nd coworker has a completely different job than what we have and they can’t do what me and the 1st coworker can. So while in theory they’re qualified, once they sit down with the manager they’ll see that they’re not qualified at all. As long as they didn’t talk about alcohol detox in the interview, they should be fine. The manager wasn’t tricky but she did pose some questions that could trip you up.
I’ll really be happy if one of my coworkers gets the job because we all want to get out of the area that we work in. But I’ll be really upset that it wasn’t me. Especially since I’m the only one out of the 3 of us that really wants the job.
I feel like I’ve been run over by a steam roller - metaphorically speaking of course. But man do I feel bad. I left work early on Monday because I was weak. Then I ended up calling off of work on Tuesday and Wednesday. I did make it in today but it was a really long day. I spent the entire time I was off in bed.
I’m glad I’m feeling better because while I like being off of work, I don’t like being sick.
Ughhh. I really should have called off from work today because I feel like crap. I have 4 vacation days left that I could have moved around so I could have today off. I thought of that once I was already on the bus on my way to work.
I was sick all weekend and I’m still feverish with a cough today. I just hope the day passes fairly quickly so I can go home and rest.
And I have no idea why. I went to bed at a pretty reasonable hour but once I laid down, I couldn’t sleep at all. I tossed and turned for pretty much the entire night. I think I fell asleep around 4:30am for 1/2 hour and then again around 5:30 for about 45 minutes. So a total of 1 hr and 15 minutes all night. It doesn’t help that I have to work today.
Ughhhh, this is going to be one long day.
The main reason is because our office location is moving and no one wants to go to the new location. It’s further away from where we work now which means a longer commute. It’s also further away from our corporate offices so we won’t interact with any of our coworkers except the ones in the building. Personally I see many negatives with the move and no positives for me. Hopefully I’ll get a new job before we move and I won’t have to deal with any of that.
Also one of my coworkers may be getting a new job and there is a lot of jealousy and animosity. She’s qualified for the job so I think it mainly has to do with jealousy that she’s getting a new job. Most of the people that are angry have never applied for new jobs though so they shouldn’t even have an opinion.
I guess these are some of the downsides to working in a office environment.
Boo…I am not happy either. I’ve been checking into my job for over 3 months. I actually stole the mayorship from another guy that works in the building.
So about a month ago, one of my coworkers starting using the service and checking into our work location. Now remember, I have over 2 months more check-ins than she does. Well I was off for a week on vacation but came back to my mayorship. Monday was a holiday and I was off yesterday. Guess what, she stole my mayorship!!! How is that even possible?!?!??! But the best part is that it told me I’m 3 days away from being the mayor.
That’s not even possible. Foursquare cheats. I guess it’s they’re way of ensuring that more people get to be the mayor but that’s crap. There is no way she should be the mayor when there are 444 check-ins and I have over 100 of those. 65 people have checked in and the other guy has about 80. How many could she really have?
I know it’s supposed to be fun, but I don’t like when services just randomly award and reward people for no good reason.

Ugh I hate these things. I’m allergic to chocolate and instead of zits, I get cold sores. This past weekend I had several, ok 4, big pieces of chocolate and I knew I was gonna get hit. Then yesterday I felt the tingle so I went ahead and ate another piece of candy that I had. I figured I was already gonna get a blister, I might as well enjoy the candy.
Now for the next several days I’ll pay for it with a ugly blister on my lip. At least it’s on the lower part of my lip where it’s barely visible.
Because everything on tv just plain stinks. I mean there are shows that I really like and shows that I won’t make it a point to watch but will watch the repeats or summer reruns. But I’ve been looking at the previews for the new fall lineup and I just shake my head.
One show is about 2 girls that work in a restaurant. I don’t see what’s supposed to be so exciting about that show because the previews look boring. Then there’s the revamp of Charlie’s Angels which looks super lame. 3 no name actresses are supposed to pull this off? Maybe that show will suprise and be really good. Last but certainly not least is Pan Am.
Great a show about air waitresses with a airline that went out of business over 20 years ago. I guess they want to harken back to the heydey when air travel was fun and the stewardesses were hot. Great job perpetuating the myth that all women are good for is being a waitress and eye candy, while looking desperately for a husband. I participate in a frequent traveler board and you always hear the old timers lament how the attendants looked back then. So I guess it’s just some old guy living out his fantasy writing this stuff.
I need to get busy writing because if these people can get ideas greenlit anybody can.
Really….What a freakin’ moron. There are so many things wrong with this that I can’t even count.
I have to agree with a local radio dj that Hines needs to grow up. He’s 35 and he’s out drinking and driving like he doesn’t have a care in the world. It’s ridiculous and irresponsible no matter if he’s a “role model” or not. Besides, I think he totally just lost that designation.
And didn’t his mom ever tell him that nothing good ever comes from being out after 2am?!?!?!
